we have long want to use his permaculture skills to grow food as naturally as possible. we dream of putting together our daily menus around what is ready to harvest that day.
in 2018 he planned and planted a beautiful, diverse, indigenous food garden at a new local restaurant - but since then other projects had consumed us. the lockdown of 2020 finally allowed us the time to establish our garden at home (read about it here) and rekindle the dream of buurtvrug.
with buurtvrug we want to create a localised garden network, on public and private property, by pairing people who have the space and means but not the time or physical capability, with willing and abled people who need a positive push in the right direction. the fruit (and veg) of this labour can eventually be supplied to neighbourhood restaurants thus drastically reducing cost and carbon footprint...
