regen-Era rising

The last time I posted about the Design Science Studio I had not even met my pod of people yet...

Wow, now here we are getting ready to launch our projects into the world...

Since my introduction to the programme in September SO MUCH has happened...

- I learned about (and from) an unbelievable array of visionaries, futurists and humans that embody hope for the future. There are really too many to mention but I encourage you to

[check out the work and profiles of my fellow (r)Evolutionaries]

[watch a few of the classes available to the public, there is sure to be a topic that intrigues you]

- My project, Fanplastiek - as a model for circular communities in the "developing world", got accepted into the Studio's Living Systems Collaboratory, which has opened up a whole new world of ideas and possibilities, specifically with regards to community coordination, non-linear thinking and understanding the interconnectivity of, well, everything...

[I highly recommend delving into the mind of Mansoor Vakili either in video - although his accent i thick - or via his articles]

- and through it all I greatly expanded my original idea into a very viable framework for circular communities, through landfill mining for the 7th resource and the local beneficiation of plastic into practical products and art for activism. Find out everything I've done on our NPC Platform's blog roll or Instagram account.

And don't miss our launch week:

At the onset of the Studio I didn’t regard myself as an artists. I am a coordinator - i make sense of chaos and facilitate others towards their unique and optimal place in a network.

So via the studio, and my amazing fellow revolutionaries, I’ve come to see that I AM an artist - in the sense that it is the role of the artist to map relationships and to study and express patterns.

My art is in the way I think, connect, organise and execute. And in scrapbooks full of scribbles and notes.

And so my artwork for our final presentation will simply be a look inside my brain, a journey of the complex system of spider webs and rabbit holes that has lead me to a place where I feel like I have a very viable plan to make a real impact in my beautiful country...

look ma, I'm an artist on an international stage...

and I did it all in my gown;)
